The world is growing darker, and the global paradox is intensifying. People pursue world peace so earnestly, yet wars, conflicts, and disputes only grow deeper across every corner of the world. They strive to unite the world, yet division deepens in every part of the global village. Religions claim to work for the peace of humanity, yet global religious conflict intensifies, and religious terrorism spreads ever wider.
In this way, the eschatological theme of "the Peace of Jerusalem" is rising ever more prominently as a central global concern.
In this age of knowledge and information, we are told that human beings have become smarter, yet people are becoming more foolish. With the advent of the cyber world and the development of global communication systems, people fear "the Eye of Lucifer"—which watches over all things—more than they fear God, and they boast of building artificial intelligence robots.
Yet, surpassing the slowly evolving biological intelligence of humans, "artificial intelligence" (AI), which evolves at the speed of light, is now opening the eschatological age of the Beast—an age in which AI exceeds human intelligence.
In the name of economic development, a free-market system of unlimited competition was launched, but people now run a death-race for survival on the track of endless competition. Under the rule of market logic, the gap between the strong and the weak, between those who have and those who have not, only grows wider, and uncertainty about the future deepens more and more.
Though it is said that the market economy has developed so greatly, what is actually approaching is the end-times age in which "the market" itself rules the world as an absolute power—the age of the Antichrist Beast, who dominates all people through the "power to buy and sell."
Education is emphasized so that people may become wise, yet people are becoming more foolish than ever. Indeed, the number of people who cannot distinguish good from evil, truth from falsehood, wisdom from deception, justice from rage, or love from lust, only continues to grow. Through humanistic modern education, people are being collectively remade into heartless machines, into beasts who have lost their humanity.
As a result, the older generation groans in pain and loneliness, like aged warriors returning from a long battlefield, while the new generation wanders in confusion and despair, in darkness and deep alienation, trapped in individualism and extreme self-centeredness.
In a world that grows darker and darker, where eschatological signs intensify, the authority of the saints is being mercilessly broken, and churches that are said to be alive but are in truth dying are only increasing in number. The number of believers who wander, not knowing where to go, grows larger, while the remnant cries out to God, sighing in the loneliness of the righteous.
Beloved brothers and sisters! Are you afraid before the ever-mounting powers of this world? Do you groan alone before the uncertainty of the coming future? You must come before the Lord, who holds all authority in heaven and on earth. Are you groaning alone in the darkness, beneath the shadow of sin? Remember the Lord, who through the cross destroyed the principalities and powers and won the victory. Let us kneel together and pray. We need the power of the Lord, who overcomes the world. We need the authority of the name of Jesus Christ, who subdues the gods of this world.
